Can you believe that it is already March of 2007. If you are like most people, you have probably fallen off the resolution band-wagon already. Why is it we make resolutions on January 1 - its just a date - then forget that each day is a new day and we can start from the beginning again today.
So if you are one of the ones who did not keep your resolutions, then start over today and make a commitment to yourself.
I saw a statistic the other day that said class reunions are a time when most people try to make a change. Well, I guess that includes me. I have a 30th class reunion coming up this year and that is giving me an extra incentive to be healthy and look good. So in the second week in January, not on the 1st, I started my resolution to follow a low glycemic index eating program. I have been amazed at the results.
In the first month and a half, I have released over 12 inches while feeling good, energetic and a little lighter. A funny thing about this type of eating program is that you reduce inches before you reduce pounds. So you toss the scale, you use the measuring tape instead. It seems a little contrary to our normal way of thinking.
Low glycemic eating has several benefits. First, you reduce fat and gain muscle. Since muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less room than fat, the inches go before the pounds. And isn't that what most of us want..to reduce inches. I have dropped 1-1/2 clothes sizes and only decreased 4 pounds.
Second, because you reduce your body fat, you also reduce your risk of heart disease. Wow, that's a nice bonus.
Third, you are eating low glycemic and eating often which allows you blood sugar level to remain constant throughout the day so your pancreas doesn't get overtaxed. A great way to prevent diabetes and keep diabetes under control.
Find the right eating programthat works for you. Recommit yourself to a healthy lifestyle today. You owe it to you body that works wonders for you every second of every day.
