“... When I was playing around with the program (Sonopathy), I felt stressed, so I started the stress sound. Upon hitting Play, I was presented with a noise that made my head tingle. And while the sound was playing, I actually started feeling much better, and my scepticism washed away...”

This is a system of the body that I feel that everyone should know about! If I asked you what was the skeletal system consisted of, I am sure you would know at least something about it. The same with the muscular, Nervous and a few more systems of the body. Maybe! But it seems to me that some people just don' t know what this system called the Lymphatics is all about. So! Let's go over it to give you a little more information about it.
It is actually very complex and contains Lymph nodes. Lymph ducts, tissues, vessels and more. We won't go into the system in great detail but enough to give you an idea what it is all about. It sounds something like the blood vascular system but the main difference is that it has no pump like the heart does for the blood. So what does move the lymph through the body?
Take a minute and move your arm up and down. Then side to side. You just moved same lymph in yuur body! Muscle contraction is the main reason that the lymph is moved. Once it starts to move there are one way valves called lymph nodes located throughout the body. Some of the main areas that contain a lot of nodes are under the arms, in the groin and around the base of the neck. These nodes are like little pumps that have the one way valves in them.
If you are inactive it is possible to build up toxins in the body which can cause illness. So exercise and movement is very important. Massage is also another way to move lymph. And You thought it only felt good. There are specific massage movements and techniques which should be followed when doing lymphatic drainage massage. For instance the strokes should be done lightly and directed towards the heart. If the stroke are done away from the heart, the last stroke should be towards it.
OK, now let's go over it in a little different way. The Lymphatic system is a major part of the Immune system- It consists of three functions that are interrelated.
(1) It removes excess fluids f rom the tissues of the body.
(2) Is absorbs the fatty acids then transports fat to the circulatory system known as chyle.
(3) It also produces immune cells, such lymyhocytes and monocytes.
As mentioned before the Lymphatic system has no heart or a way to pump the fluid. It moves slowly due to peristalsis, one way valves, and the movement of the skeletal muscles. Tight clothing can restrict movement of the fluids so the waste can a accumulate. If this bappens the tissue can swell. this is called edema.
This fluid then goes into the right lymphatic duct for the right upper body and tharacic duct goes to the rest of the body. Then both ducts drain into the circulatory system at the right and left subclavian veins. The system collaborates with white blood tells in lymph nodes to protect the body from being infected. This is known as a second circulatory system.
To find out more about this important system take some time and look it up! Find out as much as you can about this amazing body that we are in.
