Sharing what we do is a problem for many people, and our message can easily get lost. As a society, we are raised not to self-promote. Although there is a fine line between honest self-promotion and bragging, ("I played great today!") We need to be able to comfortably and objectively present what we have to offer.
I have observed over the years that people who operate from these deeply embedded beliefs constantly doubt themselves. In a networking situation, while people are presenting themselves and their services, are you really listening and observing, or are you thinking of ways to best promote yourself and your business? I wonder how much more effective we would be if we had all of the information that can distract us prepared ahead of time?

How does my service…
- create value for people?
- make their lives easier?
- make their lives more fulfilled?
- appropriately accommodate what people need or want?
Having answered those questions, you move to the next step. When you present yourself, you want to create an impact. Considering the value of your service, get a clear image of how you want to promote yourself…with confidence and clarity. Small steps make a big difference.
