There are two key principles needed for getting anything done in life: motivation and enthusiasm. Our daily lives are shaped by obstacles, hindrances and mishaps, but on the other hand life is also shaped by luck and good fortune. When we are motivated and enthusiastic and have a sense of commitment it then becomes easier to navigate around obstacles, jump over hurdles and change mishaps into lessons for growth, all the while stating that we are lucky and fortune is smiling down on us. But if you are lacking in these departments then roadblocks becomes insurmountable and you'll find yourself accepting as truth your lame excuses to give up trying and simply accept what life doles out to you.

When you become clearer about the goals you want to accomplish and a higher degree of understanding for your hopes and dreams you will increase within yourself a stronger sense of motivation and enthusiasm. You can then dissolved your thoughts of negative thinking and rid yourself of unfounded excuses for your failures. In turn becoming more enlightenment and more reassured of who you are and what you want out of life.

The problem with most people's thinking is an irrational fear of not being good enough and/or the feeling of not being smart enough. These thoughts will decrease your motivation and increase within your thinking a negative attitude and a dismal outlook. When faced with the dilemma of not knowing how to accomplish anything, never use the statement "I don't know how. or "I can't do it."  This type of thinking will paralyze, causing you to surrender even before you get started. Instead use this statement, "I can do it, I just need to simply find out how it˜s done, then do it."

Once you have set your mind upon what you want to accomplish and what is important to your welfare, the next step is to decide what course of action is needed. You must commit yourself to do the work in order to accomplish what you desire. Become excited and enthusiastic and visualize yourself working joyously and you will succeed in life. Without action there is no growth.

Nearly all of the time when we set out to do anything we have a tendency to only focus on the difficulty or the sacrifices we need to make, instead of focusing on the joy of accomplishment. Example, if you need to clean your house and just focus on the work that is involved you will lack the motivation or enthusiasm. But if you think about how you will feel (happy and a sense of accomplishment) when your house is sparkling clean and organized, you will do the work with ease and enjoyment. I repeat, once you have your list of goals and you have prioritize them, the next step is to choose one goal, become enthusiastic about starting it, while you are accomplishing it and congratulate yourself for finishing the task at hand.

Another trap that we fall into is expecting and needing the approval and praise of other people. It is important to encourage and praise yourself along your progress often tell yourself you are doing a great job. You'll soon discover your need for external praise will start to diminish.

Finally, it's time to do some inner child work. Ask yourself when and how did you lose your sense of enthusiasm and motivation for your life. Did something happen in your childhood or adulthood? When you discover the situation(s) where you lost your sense of accomplishment or when you adopted a negative attitude, its time to work on them. Don't overreact or become angry or upset at the situation or the transgressors. Instead ask yourself, "What did I learn from this situation?" "How can I bring closure to it and can I change my attitude and grow from it?" As you review your life resist the overwhelming feelings of being a victim instead feel like the winner. A winner because you are willing to revisit hurtful situations again, learn from them, and let them go. Then forgive yourself and know that you are growing for the better, becoming stronger, more enlightened an achiever not a defeatist.

If you follow my advice and if you do the inner child cleansing you will rediscover your enthusiasm for working on your goals and the motivation to achieve them. Life is simple, it is we mortals that make it all too complicated. Always remember this quotation:

Life is an adventure to be lived, not a problem to be solved.
